Super Bowl, Nike and Dolce & Gabbana are just some of the brands that use NFTs strategically — as a promotional gift, for instance — in the brand experience, in order to achieve better results in their campaigns. With an NFT as a promotional gift you offer your stakeholders a completely new experience of your brand.
But what exactly are NFTs, and how can they be used as innovative promotional products? In this blog you will find the essentials in brief:
- What is an NFT?
- NFTs as promotional products
- Possible examples of use
What is an NFT?

NFT stands for non-fungible token.
A non-fungible token (NFT) is a unique and non-interchangeable unit of data stored in a digital ledger, in this case the blockchain. These files can be almost anything: from digital artworks and music to collectibles and videos, or indeed promotional products. NFTs have a speculative value — set by the community — and can be swapped or traded without any fear of duplicates.
Many successful NFT projects go beyond the digital sphere and give the owner certain advantages in real life. Some, however, are aimed more at use on digital platforms, for example when a user can use their NFTs in video games in the form of equipment.
In this YouTube video the term NFT is explained simply and clearly.
What use are NFTs as promotional products?

NFTs let brands present themselves in the virtual world in an innovative way.
The main reason NFTs have caused such a stir in the marketing industry lies in their ability to track, manage and verify digital assets securely. Another important reason they matter to companies is that they can be used to represent digital files such as art, audio and video. They are so versatile that they can also be used for other forms of creative work such as virtual property, virtual worlds, fashion and much more.
Attentive companies benefit from the hype around NFTs. Last March the virtual platform Decentraland held a fashion show and thereby created the first exclusively virtual fashion week. Brands such as Dolce & Gabbana, Tommy Hilfiger and Paco Rabanne walked a virtual catwalk at that fashion week to present their brands in a virtual world. Another example is Adidas, who turned over around 43 million dollars in a partnership with Bored Ape Yacht Club and other well-known NFT projects.

In addition to the financial gains, the companies achieved lasting branding successes with their clients, offered them exclusive experiences and created a sense of community. The fusion of the physical and the digital universe has created a range of new possibilities that were previously unimaginable for companies.
What are possible examples of an NFT as a promotional product?
True to our motto “the future is now”, Twing has taken the first step into the future. Below we show you interesting areas of NFT use for your brand, as inspiration:
Digital “Panini” pictures of clients or employees

Twing employee cards as an NFT. Why not try something new? Have a digital Panini portrait of your whole team created as NFTs and start the collecting fever in your office! An employee gift with a special experience, which will certainly be remembered. Which is the rarest card? What are the various NFTs traded for? The proceeds can go, for instance, to a good cause agreed together beforehand.
A donation to an organisation of your choice

A donation to deBee as a digital giveaway with an NFT certificate.
Why not give a digital promotional gift for a change? And one connected to a good cause at that. Make an amount available as a donation to an organisation of your choice and receive a matching NFT along with the physical or digital certificate. Sponsor bees and help preserve them. Besides the donation certificate you receive a sweet picture of a bee, for example.
Create your own company NFT collection

Your products as an NFT collection — here using Nike as an example.
Give your creativity free rein and create an NFT collection as a promotional product for your audience. The NFT could hold a discount code, for instance, with which the owners get a product on better terms. Be an early bird and spread your brand on the blockchain too!
Product authenticity

Important information about a product can be stored by means of an NFT.
NFTs are able to store important information about a physical or virtual product, such as the authentication of ownership, which can be used to create value.
Ticketing

Tickets, for internal and external events for instance, as an NFT.
Conventional entry tickets can be replaced by NFT tickets tied to a unique ID, with which users gain entry or use a product or service. Users then need only a single token ID, used for all ticket issues — losing parking permits or lottery tickets is a thing of the past.
Let us be honest: your brand together with an NFT — sounds good, does it not? Show your clients and your employees that your company stands for innovation!
